A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words: Displaying Contact Pictures in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

When you can put a face to a name, it can make all the difference in developing a relationship. Because you work with people across the country or sometimes across the globe, the personal connection is a little harder to maintain. But we live in a technology world and although we’re miles apart from our customers, it’s still possible to stay engaged and responsive to their needs.

Microsoft Dynamics® CRM makes customer engagement even more possible these days with its social collaboration features. Customer engagement has become an easy and fun thing to do. Now, you can even include pictures of your contacts in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. This small yet effective feature helps improve your memory. Instead of struggling to remember a name, you’re able to involve the visual side of the brain.

Microsoft posted a great blog with screenshots and instructions that show various ways you can leverage this new feature. Here are a few highlights from this blog:

-        You will need to rearrange fields on the form to create a placeholder for the image.

-        You can use your customer’s Facebook profile picture so it changes every time they update it.

-        You can also store the profile pictures as attachments, so you don’t need access to their Facebook page if you don’t have it.

-        This works in both Microsoft Dynamics CRM on-premises and online
