Oh, please, folks. If you publish a tool to create charts, please do your homework and make it to create USEFUL charts instead of useless eye-candy. Edward Tufte and Stephen Few spring to mind. 3D charts are the most useless charts ever invented. They are misleading, and hard to interpret by the reader. Do us all a favour and read Stephen Few's "Show me the Numbers" and his other books and then change the tool to produce effective charts. It's really not all that hard. Regards, Ingeborg Hawighorst, Microsoft MVP (Excel)
Ingeborg,
While your comment about creating useful charts is valid, the tool does not limit the chart creation to 3D charts.
Perhaps the title was a little misleading as 3D is just ONE OF MANY types that can be created with this tool. Simply, a few of our customers have pushed us to provide 3D charts and this post was to announce that we now offer it.
Again, this tool allows you to create charts based on any data held in your systems through the capabilities provided by the Powertrak Platform. The charting component is actually the .Net 4.0 Charting Control which Powertrak structures using a meta driven configuration and provides data to using the Powertrak Data Adapters technology. The tool can deliver the types of charts you are describing. Hopefully, that better describes the functionality we are delivering with this tool.
