While we were all getting used to the layout of CRM 2011, with its powerful and sometimes overwhelming array of windows, buttons, and options, Microsoft was busy preparing the newest version of Dynamics CRM. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 is now available and is actively being deployed to CRM 2011 Online users. If you are using CRM 2011 Online you have probably received several notices from Microsoft informing you of your scheduled upgrade date.
Dynamics CRM 2013 makes getting your tasks done easier and more efficient. There are many changes with Dynamics 2013, most notably the updated user interface, shown below. You will notice all of the buttons from the left hand side of the screen have been moved to the top of the screen. The new user interface is now touch enabled and optimized for tablet and mobile devices, so you can access your CRM system from anywhere on any device.
Dynamics CRM 2013 also introduces customizable process-based workflows (“flows”) into CRM 2013 screens. This feature helps guide your employees through your company’s specific business processes from start to finish. For example, the screen capture above shows the Opportunity entity and the default flow for that screen shows Qualify -> Develop -> Propose - > Close. Each of those stages in the opportunity has associated tasks that can be customized to suit your sales process, guiding your employees through the lifecycle of an opportunity with fewer questions, fewer windows, and intuitive navigation choices. All of Dynamics CRM 2013’s entities (Leads, Cases, Contracts, Opportunities, etc…) can have customized flows, allowing you to simplify life for your users while enforcing consistency across your business operations.
