One of the features that I have often found lacking in CRM software today is good document management. Most CRM packages give users the ability to attach documents, but document management is much more than that. True document management incorporated with CRM allows companies to work more effectively and collaboratively as teams on projects, proposals, business processes, etc., while keeping these records linked to their CRM data. Most companies work in teams, and to be able to work collectively on the same documents with revision tracking provides better opportunities to win business. No more sending emails back and forth not knowing which version is the most recent. Also, employees can set up forums to discuss documents in reference to opportunities. Document Management together with CRM can provide a powerful software solution that gives any company a greater advantage over their competitors.
