With the release date of the long awaited Update rollup 12 quickly approaching, CRM designers and users are preparing for some new features coming to CRM. These features include:
- Updated User Interface
- Pre-Defined and configurable Sales and Service Processes
- Social Integration
- Office 2013 compatibility
- Browser and Mobile Experiences
- Embedded Skype
- New Bulk Data APIs
- Browser flexibility
One of the features I’m sure most users are most anxious or nervous to see is the new interface, or User Experience (UX) that is coming to CRM 2011. New web forms CRM now have a more intuitive interface to streamline the information users are presented with. The updated UX is clean, consistent and easy to use. With the new update these new forms will show: Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, and Case forms first and will broaden with future updates to cover other entities.
Since the new interface may not be for everyone, the update does include a new section in the options to revert back to the ‘Classic’ forms users may feel more comfortable with.
Another exciting feature coming to CRM 2011 is cross browser compatibility that brings CRM web access to select browsers including Firefox, Chrome, and even Safari on OS X. With the current Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) trend, this change from CRM being chained to Internet Explorer should deeply broaden the use and acceptance of CRM by allowing access on devices users are already comfortable with and enjoy using.
This new update to CRM 2011 should continue to streamline business and make users even more productive than ever! To download the update rollup 12, or to see a more detailed list of new features, please
