Microsoft Dynamics CRM as a Platform

Microsoft Dynamics CRM out of the box has many overlooked features including the ability to customize the product down to the field level. Due to the customization possibilities, I would prefer to think of CRM as a platform to allow your business to grow way beyond the sales cycle.

Business models are not static and your management solutions should not restrict you to programmers and design architect’s planned feature sets. What is really nice about CRM’s customization is the ability to leverage many Microsoft technologies. Need a query or view? Not an issue in CRM 2011. Reporting capabilities include SQL Reporting Services or Fetch XML, and the new ribbon is fully XML modifiable, for example you can add, change, and dim buttons. Web resources and Java Scripting add unlimited capabilities to the out of the box product, such as client side data validation and integration options to other platforms.

But enough of the technical stuff; whether your business involves services or manufacturing, Fortune 500 or less than 25, Microsoft CRM will work for you. And the capabilities do not stop with the sales cycle. I like to think of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 as a platform to help you gain insight and knowledge to move your business forward.
