I want to mention a very handy solution that comes with the SDKl, the Metadata Browser. The Metadata Browser is a web resource that uses HTML and SOAP calls to display entity metadata more easily. By default it installs a link in the Settings section of CRM under Customization.
To install the Metadata Browser solution, just go to settings in CRM and choose Solutions. There, choose the Import feature. You will then browse your local drive to SDK/tools/metadatabrowser/ metadatabrowser_1_0_0_1_managed.zip. Once the solution has been uploaded you will then need to Publish All Customizations. When publishing is complete, refresh your CRM browser window and go back to the Settings section. Now you will see a link for Metadata Browser. Here is what the final product looks like.
Notice that you can filter and search on entities within your CRM organization. You will click on an entity name on the left screen and will get important hidden data about that entity on the right hand side. This can be very handy when trying to customize CRM and you need certain information about an entity. Enjoy!
