Take Advantage of Dashboards in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

You’ve seen them before. Bright, colorful and chalked full of all kinds of data.

Yes, I’m talking about Dashboards.

If you are not taking advantage of the Dashboards feature within Microsoft Dynamics CRM (now known as Dynamics 365), you are missing out on having access to a wide array of important data within a single view.

If creating dashboards seems overwhelming to you, just catch your breath and relax. We are going to show you exactly how to get started by creating a few dashboards of your own.

If you know how to utilize Advanced Find in CRM and create personal views and charts, we are just going to take all that work you have already done and wrap up it into a dashboard.

But before you go all dashboard crazy, make sure that your dashboards make sense and are valuable resources that you plan to access on a consistent basis.

Not sure what Dashboards you want or really need?

It is really dependent upon your role but a few examples are:

  • Opportunity/Sales Pipeline: How many opportunities are in the pipeline, by stage, by product, by close date.
  • Sales Performance: See open opportunities, sales leaders, wins and losses by sales rep, product or territory.
  • Sales Activity: See your individual pipeline or that of your team; won, lost and stuck opportunities by type.
  • My Sales: See everything that is yours: my open opportunities, my open leads, my open activities.
  • Revenue: See revenue by quarter, account, sales rep, this year vs. last year.
  • Marketing: See opportunities by source campaign, campaign mix, budget vs. cost, leads by campaign, revenue by campaign
  • User Adoption: See activities by user, logins by user, new contacts added by user, new opportunities by user.
  • Case Management: See cases by source, elapsed time, type of issue, open cases by owner, queues
  • Trending Data: See trends over months, quarters and years.
  • and the list goes on and on and on….
