As workers are becoming increasingly mobile, they are working not only on their smartphones, but also on their tablets. So today, I’d like to follow up my previous smartphone blog with a similar entry that answers your questions about using Dynamics CRM on your tablet. Let’s get started.
Q. What Dynamics CRM features are available to users of the tablet apps?
A. You can do a variety of things, including look up records, edit them, create new ones, and keep in touch with colleagues.
Q. What types of devices are compatible with the tablet apps for Dynamics CRM 2013?
A. The new tablet apps for Dynamics CRM 2013 are compatible with:
- Microsoft Surface
- Microsoft Surface RT
- iPad (3rd and 4th generation)
- Other Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT tablets, as long as they meet the hardware requirements listed below.
Q. What if my tablet is not compatible with the new Dynamics CRM 2013 tablet apps? Can I still access the system using my tablet’s browser?
A. See table below.
* iOS 7 is supported if your Microsoft Dynamics CRM iPad app has been updated to version 1.0.51and you’ve installed Microsoft Dynamics CRM Update Rollup 1. If your organization uses Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, this update has already been applied.
Q. Where can I download the Dynamics CRM app for my tablet?
A. If you have a Windows tablet, you will find the app in the Windows 8 app store. If you’re using an iPad, go to the Apple App store to download the Dynamics CRM 2013 app.
Q. Are there any additional fees to use the tablet apps?
A. No, mobile access is included in Dynamics CRM 2013’s licensing costs.
Q. Is Dynamics CRM 2013 required to use the tablet app?
A. Yes. You can be using Dynamics CRM Online Fall ’13 or Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 on premise. If you’re using the on premise option, you’ll need to enable Internet-facing deployment (IFD). For more information on this, click
