One of the many cool new features in the recent update to is embedded Bing maps. Address fields are already a part of many of your records, and with Bing maps, you can now easily take advantage of this geo-data for visualization. Of course, it had been possible to generate Bing maps in MS Dynamics CRM before, but it generally required some coding or else purchasing 3rd-party packages.
With this just released 2012 update Bing maps will now appear in customer forms as part of the reworked customer experience or “Flow UI”. According to Microsoft, “addresses for contacts and accounts will be displayed in an embedded contextual map provided by the Microsoft decision engine Bing.”
These are basic maps, but prior to this new feature, it would have required much more work to achieve the same result. When you combine these Bing maps with 's new support for browsers and, significantly, support for Safari on iPads, you have the foundation for a game-changing feature.
