Having your business software solutions working together helps your employees share and find data thus increasing their productivity. Well now there is a way to connect Microsoft Dynamics CRM and your Microsoft Dynamics ERP Solution, whether it is Dynamics AX Axapta, Dynamics GP Great Plains, or Dynamics NAV Navision.

The connector is a free tool that will integrate your systems allowing you to move pricing information along with customer information between your two solutions. Not only is the connector free, but it is extremely easy to customize based on how you do business.

Your employees will be able to improve customer satisfaction by having all information at their fingertips. The customer will no longer be transferred from one customer representative to another in order to find out the progress of their order.

Sales employees can improve their sales by having an accurate count of the various products available and increase demand for those that have been sitting in inventory. On the other hand, if your warehouse needs more supply, they will be able to see how many orders have been placed. This will allow them to predict the demand and be prepared for any customer’s future orders.

In short, the Dynamics ERP and CRM Connector:

• Is easy to install, use, and customize.

• Increases sales, service, and customer satisfaction.

• Supports your unique business processes.

• Helps you realize more from your ERP and CRM systems.

We were impressed with the November 2011 Service Update (R7) but we wanted to call out some of the anticipated highlights for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Q2 2012 Service Update (R8) release, dubbed “CRM Anywhere”

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobility

This update includes a welcome, but rather surprising announcement, for Microsoft’s answer to a more robust mobile solution. Interestingly, Microsoft has partnered with CWR Mobility to take advantage of its 3rd party product and bring its mobility strategy to market much faster than it could on its own. It seems as though Microsoft is licensing certain aspects of CWR but will be building off the platform – which is great news. Security role integration and native language localization seems to be Microsoft’s first priorities. AbleBridge is a CWR Mobility Partner and we do like their solution so we’re excited to see where it goes from here.

Cross Browser Support

Today Microsoft Dynamics CRM is only supported on Internet Explorer. This update will provide cross browser and cross platform capability for its web client. Safari running on PC, Mac, or iPad, Firefox running on PC or Mac, Chrome running on PC – this is BIG. We’re keenly interested to see how well this strategy will play with 1) Outlook integration – will it just work, or what disclaimers need to be considered? And 2) Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution development – will this be a build once deploy anywhere or build twice for cross browser supportability?

Along with a new mobility option and cross browser support, which we feel are the two biggest announcements; this update also includes enhanced Enterprise Scalability, Enhanced Social Capabilities and some other Enhancements around industry templates, business intelligence and an improved portal framework.

We’re going to see a lot more information come out about the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Q2 2012 Service Update but the announcement alone illustrates Microsoft’s continued commitment to their CRM mobility strategy.

AbleBridge is 100% focused on Microsoft Dynamics CRM and we’ve witnessed the evolution of the product for almost a decade. The latest release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 illustrates Microsoft’s commitment to a long term strategic vision for CRM and we couldn’t be more excited as a Microsoft Partner. Contact us to learn more about how we can help you realize the benefits of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

You can’t help but notice the major emphasis people are putting on mobile devices these days. They are the wave of the future, and one that can make businesses more productive and efficient. But what does this mean for your existing CRM software?

This means it’s time to accept mobility into your current customer service management, if you haven’t already. Your employees are probably already using their smart phones in order to conduct business more efficiently and effectively; it’s somewhat crucial to staying ahead of the competition these days. The question you want to ask is can you and should you connect those devices with your CRM software? We say, “Yes!”

Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics® CRM brings mobile functionality to a whole new level for businesses. Your sales force can have access to real-time account information from any web enabled mobile device. With this valuable information at hand, they can effectively meet the needs of your customers and even optimize on up-sell and cross-sell opportunities. Even when they’re on the road, they can quickly respond to customer requests or questions, ensuring enhanced customer support throughout your organization. Notifications and alerts can even help remind sales and customer service reps of important appointments or service calls. All this information is available through a customized, easy to read and manage mobile format.

Mobile technology trends have brought about a new way of doing business - a new and improved way, in our opinion. Microsoft Dynamics CRM enables businesses like yours to take advantage of this trend and contributes to the success of your business. And things just keep getting better. Microsoft just announced in their next service update of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, a new cloud-based, cross-platform native mobile client for Windows Phone 7.5, iPad, iPhone, Android, and Blackberry devices called Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile. Contact us at Sikich to learn more about the groundbreaking mobility functionality in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Being able to analyze what your software organizes for you is one of the most important factors of a good business solution. If your CRM software cannot produce records of information, then it’s pretty much useless. That’s really the whole point of managing your contacts in a comprehensive database…knowledge. Knowledge about your customer base gives you the power to increase sales and become more successful as a company.

So how do you get the most out of your CRM reporting? The first step is knowing you have the access to the information you need. In Microsoft Dynamics® CRM, it’s incredibly easy to get the knowledge out of your system and it’s also the first step to making better business decisions.

You may have previously relied on your IT department to receive sales reports. Now, you can directly access built in sales reporting features in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, making it easier to align goals with company objectives.

There is also an intuitive report wizard that helps anyone on your team set up ad-hoc reports. You know that one report doesn’t cover the knowledge base needed by everyone in your organization. This feature in Microsoft Dynamics CRM makes it possible for each of your employees to access the information relevant to their role, without having to dig through a bunch of irrelevant information.

Dashboard and key performance indicators also make it easier to get the most out of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Once these are set up to meet the needs of each department, productivity can soar. The information streaming through these easy-to-read and understand charts paves the way for employees to be the best they can be.

In conclusion, CRM software should produce information that’s relevant to each team member so a company can make better decisions and become more productive. We hope these quick tips about Microsoft Dynamics CRM help you see just how great reporting features can be. If you have any questions, please contact us at Cargas Systems.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM has increasingly been the solution of choice for companies looking for a flexible and powerful sales, marketing, and customer service tool to grow their businesses. With the look and feel of Microsoft Office and a tight integration to Outlook, Word, and Excel, Microsoft CRM offers end-users an experience they are already familiar with, which lowers training costs and increases user adaptability. Now Microsoft CRM just became even better.

Microsoft announced that in the second quarter of 2012, a service update to Microsoft CRM will add an array of new features and functionality, including Microsoft CRM Mobile a full range off native apps for smart phones and tablets. This means that the power of Microsoft CRM can now be used on your iPhone, iPad, or Blackberry device, just to names a few.

What’s better than a marketing campaign with all the bells and whistles? A marketing campaign with all the bells and whistles that’s targeted to a segmented audience who actually wants to hear what you have to say. No, it’s not a tall order, it’s exactly what Microsoft Dynamics® CRM can provide – a sharp, effective, and productive marketing campaign.

In some instances, marketing can be as effective as throwing darts – you toss a lot of darts in hopes of hitting the bull’s-eye eventually. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a powerful software solution that provides greater accuracy for marketing efforts. You can draw prospect and customer data from other sources and create specific target lists that can be linked to tailored marketing campaigns. Easily export these lists for bulk mail or email contacts, or share with the marketing team. Having current contact data in a single platform will enable the entire marketing team to respond to prospects and customers from any web-enabled device whether in the office or on the road.

Easily create catalogs, special pricing, or discounts for offers using reusable templates or further tailor messages for specific target lists within Microsoft Dynamics CRM. You can share marketing assignments and assign leads or create actionable rules that will generate an automatic response based on customer interest. Every marketing activity, task, and budget can be tracked and monitored so that you can measure results. Having each action item tracked in Microsoft Dynamics CRM will also ensure that marketing staff are using current data and know which offers were suggested to prospects, eliminating the embarrassing second phone call or following up on the wrong promotion or worse yet, letting a prospect fall through the cracks.

Streamlining marketing efforts will improve productivity and give the marketing team extra time to reach more prospects. Measuring marketing efforts will help you identify trends and determine what works and which efforts yield less desirable results. Microsoft Dynamics CRM can help you fine tune marketing campaigns so that you spend less time throwing darts and more time hitting bull’s-eyes.

Today’s workplace is made up of wireless devices and employees working remotely, so why should your CRM application make you feel tethered to your desk?

With CRM Mobility, a mobile application service for Microsoft Dynamics CRM provided by FMT Consultants, users can view and update Microsoft Dynamics CRM data on iOS, BlackBerry and Android devices including both phones and tablets. CRM Mobility enables users to work offline when no internet connection is available and provides a rich user experience tailored to the specific needs of the application.

Benefits of CRM Mobility:

Time and Cost to Solution – By leveraging tools like HTML5 and jQuery, FMT is able to deliver a functional solution within a short period of time suited for your exact needs at a cost lower than it would be to license a solution.

Control – Using open standard platforms we have ultimate control over the look and feel of the end product, allowing us to deliver a solution that not only meets, but exceeds your expectations.

One Set of Code – Because of the tools and technologies used, we can develop one set of code that works on various devices and form factors.

Support and Maintenance – Using non-proprietary technologies allows us to enhance, support, and maintain the application.

Companies are being pressured to keep their relationships strong by adding a social media mix to their marketing and sales efforts, but they should also realize social doesn’t end at your customer. Social media brought into the workplace can create a lot of benefits not many are aware of.

Social media connected with your CRM software can bring together the sales, marketing, and customer service departments. When these three areas work together, it creates a great concoction of customer satisfaction and more effective lead generation. Here are a few examples of when it especially comes in handy:

Let’s say your sales representative is working on converting an event attendee into an opportunity, but he/she didn’t attend the event and doesn’t have a good handle on what the attendee may have learned or taken away. The sales rep can quickly video chat with the marketing rep to see whether there are offers or if attendees received particular information that he/she can mention. This creates a streamlined sales call for the rep and increases the chances of success.

Let’s say the marketing manager is making plans for the next year, but needs input from a few of the sales reps to get a good handle on what’s working for them and what isn’t. The manager can do some research in CRM to see what type of leads were generated from certain sources. They can also IM or message a few sales reps to get their anecdotal feedback that’s valuable for creating an effective marketing plan.

Connecting social media with your CRM is definitely a way to stay connected with your customers, but it’s also another way to enhance relationships in the office. Take advantage of the technology we have available today to make your job as productive as possible and contact us if you have any questions about how Microsoft Dynamics® CRM works with social media components.

Businesses have clearly recognized the existence of cloud computing, and it would be difficult to find a business where buzzwords like “cloud” and “SaaS” are not being thrown around. But how many businesses are actually using the cloud or at least considering it? According to a Microsoft-sponsored study 39 percent of small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) expect to pay for cloud services within 3 years, an increase of 34 percent.

The study “SMB Cloud Adoption Study Dec 2010 – Global Report“, conducted by Edge Strategies, surveyed employees at 3,258 companies from all over the world. What it found is that 74 percent of those employees expected to use at least one cloud service (either paid or free) in 3 years, and 39 percent expect to pay for services.

The two largest areas of cloud usage used by respondents were accounting and payroll (20%), collaboration (17%), file/data storage and backup (15%), business class email (14%), and CRM (14%). Several other services, such as data archiving and web conferencing also accounted for more than 10 percent. The study also found that SMBs that use email through multiple methods (i.e. desktop app, browser, and mobile device) are more likely to adopt paid cloud services.

Of those SMBs that do not intend to use cloud services, 57 percent believe they have IT capabilities that are sufficient for current use. They believe their in-house IT solutions give them more control over applications and data. 53 percent stated that they did not know enough about cloud computing to make an informed decision. On the other hand, only 30 percent did not trust cloud services because of perceived unproven results, lack of data security, or higher cost, and only 15 percent viewed cloud services as unreliable in general.

The evidence from the study strongly indicates that most companies will continue to view on-premise software as an important component of their business IT solutions, while cloud computing will continue to play a significant role. Businesses that need both options should look to a service provider that can deliver both, and Microsoft is the obvious choice. Microsoft now offers on-premise solutions with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and also a cloud alternative with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. Both are interchangeable and also integrate well with other Microsoft products, such as Office Professional and Office 365.

Social media is invading nearly every aspect of business. There seems to be a Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter link on nearly every website, print ad, and commercial ads. If you aren’t using social media to reach out to your customers, then you could be missing important opportunities. Tools that listen to social media streams are especially beneficial for businesses these days; even more so when you’re able to manage social media as well as interact with your followers. Adding social media to your customer management strategy is important because, to be quite blunt- if you don’t listen to your prospects, they won’t listen to you. Competition is also fierce with most companies leveraging social media to their benefit. It is definitely time to join the club if you haven’t already.

So I have made my case. But how do you even get started? First, you will want to figure out the capabilities of your current CRM software. Can you leverage it and the tools within to incorporate social media? Some CRM software solutions have advanced social media features while others are still waiting it out (to no avail, in my opinion).

Microsoft Dynamics® CRM, for example, is ahead of the game and paving the way for advanced social media management within CRM. Here are a few of our favorite features:

Monitored Activity: You can set it up so you have tracking abilities within social media sites to see who’s posting to your page or asking questions. Reactivity as well as proactivity is attained by having this insight. Notifications help companies stay on track and respond in a timely manner.

Basic Analytics: You can see the actual impact you’re having in the social media world, helping you analyze and adjust to create the most effective social media strategy possible.

Dashboard Management: All of this is possible through an easy-to-use and intuitive dashboard. Right next to all your other customer information and email.

Contact us at Sikich to learn more about adding social media features to your CRM. There’s no reason to delay the inevitable. Give us a call!
